Hide and Seek

As a habit, I sleep in silence, so that no one may find an avenue into my mind while i rest. last night, however, I slipped up, falling asleep to Imogen Heap's Hid and Seek. This is the dream ensued. I hope it impresses you all as it has myself.

“You ready for your first shift?” Valtava asked with a twirk in one corner of his lips.

“He breathed me ready,” Bator referred to the creation of his kind as he rolled his shoulders in anticipation.

“Rhetorical question,” Valtava mumbled under his massive jaw as they entered the spacious courtyard, “no one has ever been ready.”

“I know bu-,” Bator’s retort was cut off by their arrival in the presence of Catro and his three brothers.

“I am taking Bator on my guard, Galem was supposed to, but his human died last night, and he’s in the rest catacombs, still weeping.”

“Godspeed, for That Hour is come” was the reply from the head like a lion. Bator was in awe every time he looked upon General Catro or his three brothers.
Tremendous creatures, each had four heads, that of a lion, a man, an ox, and an eagle, each brother having four wings. Their skin appeared as moving lava, and the atmosphere around them was in continual electrical discharge.

“Come,” Valtava pushed the awestruck Bator out of the way of the other Gaurdians path, “Let’s move, I’m not gonna be the first Guardian to be late.”

Bator fingered the hilt of his blade.

“You’re not gonna need that,” Valtava droned. “His Majesty is about to move on His people, this will be quick. And don’t get caught up, my human is going to a party tonight, I have no time.”

The two Guardians took a running start as soon as they passed through the gates.

“Earth is in Province 666, but we’re coming in at an angle so as not to attract attention! They’ll be looking!” Valtava had to shout to be heard as the noise grew louder and louder as his massive shoulders began to break the gravitational barrier. Bator slipped into his wake.

“Stay alert! 666 is much darker than the holograms. Lucifer set up a shroud a when the winds were released!”

Bator could see the spiral galaxy nearing quickly. They would need to slow to the speed of light to enter into the Dark System without disrupting the planets’ atmospheres.

“Are we gathering at the southern pole still?” Bator whispered now that they were this close.
“Yes, there will be much less violence there.”

Bator stuck to Valtava like a shadow once they slipped in behind Aquan, or Uranus, as the humans called it.
They floated still as anchors, waiting for their next move. Valtava motioned for Bator to keep his presence hidden. But it was too late.
In a flash of darkness it was upon them. Bator quickly drew his scimitar.
The Dark Form was too agile. It slipped underneath Bator’s slice, and thrust its spear.

THUDDD….

Bator opened his eyes to find the demon's lifeless corpse collapse upon him, the top half of its head amiss.

Valtava hoisted the body towards the gravitational pull of Aquan and holstered the giant Sapphire hammer with which he fought.
“I told you always! Always mask your presence.”
Bator never knew anyone could yell inside a whisper.

“We’ll make a light jump to the southern pole, then find my human.”

Just then the Earth slid around the Sun, coming into view.

Bator was too young to remember the The Great Battle, but he had heard stories of the carnage. He still couldn’t picture the golden streets filled with blood, nor the crystal hills ablaze with cries of terror. This planet though, this infamous 666 provence, this Earth that was known to break Guardians in sorrow, this floating rock which afflicted The King to the point of sealing Himself away to weep daily, must have been 10 times worse.  Bator could hardly tell it was a planet, as millions upon millions of Hosts were waging war with millions upon millions of Fallen.  It was an incredible scene of violence.
Bator felt the vacuum in his abdomen as he looked deeper and gazed upon the surface of the planet. The surface was even worse. The unthinkable sins were being performed on every street corner. The Saints were so few, he couldn’t see any. The looks. The looks on the faces of these humans, these  children of the King, set ablaze Bator’s spirit. He saw rape, murder, wars, fornication, heartbreak on the highest of levels. So this was what Valtava had spoken of. This is the place where Jesus had incarnated Himself. “This,” Bator thought out loud, “THIS IS HELL!!!”

Bator looked frantically for Valtava. He had stopped on the asteroid belt to pray for his human. He must have run out of time. Valtava sensed Bator land next to him.
Valtava pointed into the world, “That’s him, Christopher, the one I told you about. The one following his friends into sin.”

Baltava’s heart broke.

“THE ONE WHOM YOU CHOSE TO PROTECT? BUT HE KNOWS! HE STUDIED! HE PRAYED! HE KNOWS WHAT THE KING DID FOR HIM! DOESN’T HE KNOW WHAT YOU GO THROUGH FOR HIM!? YOU COULD’VE BEEN KILLED!!! WHY? WHY IS HE DOING THIS?”

Bator began to scream now.

“WHERE ARE WE??? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??? THE KING BREATHED THEM FROM DUST!”
Bator rub his eyes until they bled, frantically trying to see something different then the humans who hung their heads heavy as they trudged through their miserable Godless lives.

“HE CREATED THEM LIKE HIM! WE WERE HERE FIRST! WHY WOULDN’T THEY LISTEN!”
HE WROTE ON THE WALLS FOR THEM! WHY WOULD THEY CHOOSE SUCH TEMPORARY PLEASURE??? THEY DO NOTHING! HOW CAN THEY FEEL ANYTHING? HOW INSENSITIVE ARE THEY??? THEY LEAD STILL LIVES!!! DO THEY THINK THIS A GAME??? THE KING IS ON HIS WAY NOW! AND YET THEY DO NOTHING BUT SIN!!!

[weeks later, 8,866,459,082 humans into the Judgment]

The other galaxies had stopped to listen, the Earth lay in flaming shambles, and all the Guardians stood, feeling as though the judgments of their humans, were the judgment of their own success. Bator reached up and laid his hand on Valtava’s shoulder. It was all he could think to do as the last human Christopher stood to speak before the Universe, and more importantly, His Majesty.

As many before him, the human’s voice was so quiet that he could not be heard by anyone but the King. The Kings tears grew more numerous as the human being told his story. There was a long silence. The trial had gone on for weeks now, yet the King had made sure no one suffered fatigue throughout, so that each being could witness the result of sin, the absence of God. His Majesty’s beautiful, multilayered voice penetrated the heavens, but not His own tears.

“Mm, what’d you say there at the end? That you only meant well? Well of course you did. You said it was all for the best? Of course it was. That I’m just what you need? And you just decided this…”

The King began to sob uncontrollably. His contagious cries brought tears to the faces of the universe, and tore them from their eyes.

“I do not know you.”

The words seemed to ring out forever, as the human fell back into the fire and the dust from whence he came.

The Lord of Hosts finally stood from his throne and turned to Lucifer, who was shackled to the burning planet by chains made of his own darkness.

“You spoke with no feeling, but I believed you. Ransom notes kept falling out of your mouth.  But it seems you have destroyed your own hostages. I AM, THE I AM. THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA. THE WAGES  OF SIN IS DEATH.”

The fire began to blaze, and the screams of the dying penetrated my ears, and then I woke up…And went straight to church.
Dont fall asleep with music playing, is the moral of this story...among others...
